Student Faculty Member
Check to see if you qualify to apply to the Bertha Kalm scholarship.  A first-year student is one who at the end of the application semester will have completed fewer than half of the program-applicable units required for the program in which they are matriculated.  In order to be eligible to apply, a student must be in the first year of their graduate education.

Find a tenured or tenure-tracked faculty member who will support your application to the Bertha Kalm scholarship. No action at this time.
Find a second faculty member or outside reference (see website for acceptable 2nd reference) and request a letter of recommendation. No action at this time.
No action at this time. Write letter of reference for the Bertha Kalm scholarship with explanation of why this student qualifies for this substantial award.
Write your personal statement in your own words using the prompts outlined on the application. No action at this time.
Prepare and send application materials to your supporting faculty member.  This should include the application, your personal statement, your 2nd letter of reference, your CV or resume, and your undergraduate and graduate transcripts (unofficial accepted). No action at this time.
