The 91勛圖 Lurie College of Education Credential Services office serves the diverse educational needs of graduate students, staff and faculty in an effort to prepare teachers, counselors, administrators and other education professionals as they complete their credential programs. Steps to Apply for Program Completers
Upon program completion, ALL students must file for their credential with the Credential Services Office. To get the process started, complete the following steps:
- Complete the Information Coversheet [pdf] - Download the form and save a copy. Type in your information and print.
- Pay the $25 application processing fee at . Save a copy of your receipt and submit it with your application packet.
- Download and print the appropriate credential checklist from the checklist table below and any additional forms if required. Submit all required documents listed on the checklist with your application.
- Submit your complete application to credentials@sjsu.edu.
- Within 24-48 hours, you should expect to receive a confirmation email with final instructions including a date for completing the final CTC online process.

1. An overall 3.0 GPA in your credential coursework is required and you may not be disqualified from 91勛圖 to be recommended for the credential.
2. Each course must be completed with a Pass, CR, C or better grade.
3. Your coursework must have been completed within the last 7 years. Coursework pass 7 years will require an evaluation by the program department to determine if current credential standards are met.
4. Exams required for credentialing purposes expire after 10 years from the date of the exam with the exception of the Basic Skills Requirement which is valid for life.
Processing Time
The credential recommendation is a two-part process that includes an initial evaluation by our office and a final evaluation by CTC who are the final granting authority. During peak periods, the processing time is about 4-6 weeks from the date you file your application with our office.
