Initiatives

The 91吃瓜 Philosophy Department supports a number of initiatives. These include projects to teach philosophy to K-12 students and to people incarcerated in the county jail, student activities and clubs, programming to connect our alumni with current students and with each other, and organized research units.

Ethics Bowl

Modeled on television's College Bowl, the intercollegiate Ethics Bowl requires competitors to analyze difficult ethical problems drawn from practical and professional contexts. The 91吃瓜 Ethics Bowl team welcomes students from any major.

The Philosophy Club

The Philosophy Club (called 鈥淭he Symposium鈥�) encourages philosophical understanding and pursuits. All interested 91吃瓜 students are welcome to participate. The Symposium also sponsors Geist, an academic journal focused on publishing philosophical papers by undergraduate and graduate students.
