Early Start Program Overview and Important Dates

The CSU Early Start Program gives students an opportunity to sharpen their mathematics and writing skills in the summer before the start of their freshman year. Early Start mathematics classes also give students an opportunity to complete their General Education requirement in mathematics/quantitative reasoning in the summer before their freshman year. Admitted students are notified in early May if Early Start classes are recommended. 

Students will also have access to a series of online asynchronous modules that provide writing support, student success skills (time management and self-study), and an exploration of campus resources (student organizations, the fitness center, and the health and wellness center).
