  • Dave C. Lawrence is an award-winning higher education executive with over two decades of leadership experience in finance, operations, and institutional strategy. Most recently, he served as Chief Financial Officer at National University, a San Diego nonprofit institution serving more than 40,000 graduate and undergraduate students annually. In this role, he led enterprise-wide financial initiatives, including strategic investments and portfolio expansion, and was honored as 2019 CFO of the Year by the San Diego Business Journal for his leadership and impact.

    Dave holds both an MBA and an Ed.D., combining financial expertise with a deep understanding of educational systems and governance. He is widely recognized for his collaborative leadership style, his commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and his ability to translate complex financial concepts into clear, actionable insights for a broad range of stakeholders. His oversight has spanned finance, facilities, human resources, compliance, auxiliary services, information technology and financial sustainability.

    At the heart of Dave鈥檚 leadership philosophy is a belief that shared governance and collaboration are essential to the success of higher education institutions. He works closely with faculty, staff, and community partners to align financial stewardship with academic mission, always prioritizing transparency, strategic alignment, and studentcentered outcomes. Dave has two sons, Christopher and Michael, who work in healthcare finance and wealth management, respectively. In his spare time, Dave enjoys golfing and hiking.

• Position Description Summary

  • The Vice President (VP) for Administration and Finance and Chief Finance Officer (CFO) is a cabinet level strategic executive leader who reports directly to the President of the University and provides executive leadership and vision to the Cabinet regarding operational functions of the university.  As CFO, the position also provides overall management for financial strategic planning and direct supervision of the financial and administrative/business functions which include Finance and Business Services, University Personnel, Facilities Development & Operations, Internal Control, University Police, the Office of Sustainability, and Clery and DFSCA Compliance.  The CFO participates in all aspects of institutional leadership and planning in support of the mission and goals of the university and has financial oversight responsibility for all auxiliary organizations and direct management oversight for Spartan Shop, Inc.

  • Casey H. Wyman serves as the Vice President of Business Affairs and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). In this role, he oversees the university's financial operations, including budgeting, financial planning, and administrative services. His responsibilities encompass strategic financial planning, compliance, auditability, and leading diverse teams through complex financial processes. 

    Prior to joining UNLV, Wyman had a distinguished 23-year career as an active-duty officer in the U.S. Air Force. In the U.S. Air Force, Wyman held various leadership positions, culminating in his role as Director of Financial Management (VP of Finance) at the U.S. Air Force Academy where he managed a $450 million operating budget and led a team of over 30 financial managers. 

    Wyman's expertise includes strategic planning, data automation and analytics, and corporate process ownership. He is recognized for his articulate communication skills and combat-proven leadership. His transition from military service to academia reflects his commitment to applying his leadership skills to advance institutional and community well-being.
