- Discuss requirements for changing into that major such as:
- good academic standing
- completion of courses with specified grades
- a graduation timeline using the "what if" feature in MyPlanner
- Depending on your situation, the advisor or chair might discuss the conditions for
consideration to change your major
- This may include a minimum GPA, adhering to a timeline, and the completion of specific courses
- Some students may be required to attend a and provide an academic plan as part of their mandatory advising requirements
- If the advisor or chair approves to admit you to the major they will directly share their decision with you, and prompt you to submit a change of major application. Refer to the Engineering Change of Major Policy for Application Details, and Application Timelines.
Final acceptances for change of major are officially processed through your academic records. Review MyProgress to verify completion of Change of Major process.
Note: The Engineering Change of Major Policy Academic Guidelines only applies to lower division (less than 60 units earned) students.
